Vasil has been appointed as Veon Georgia CEO in March 2023. Prior to that, Vasil served as a CFO of Veon Georgia where he moved from Geocell in 2015.

 

Vasil’s in-depth knowledge of a specific industry such as telecommunications allows him to pinpoint the needs of the company. During Vasil’s tenure as a CFO, Veon  Georgia has achieved double-digit growth across all key financial parameters. Under Vasil's leadership, the company has introduced international best practices of financial discipline and precise planning as well as implementing a voluminous ERP project. As Veon Georgia is primarily a digital operator, Vasil's digital knowledge, in particular his Master's degree in Digital Currencies, helps the company to develop its novel products.

Dimitri joined Veon Georgia in 2016 as an IT manager. In 2019, under his leadership, the IT and Technology divisions were merged into one, thus creating a mutual Technology Department.

 

Dimitri and his team together with the world-renowned company Ericsson digitally transformed Veon Georgia's customer service and billing systems into a single system. After long preparatory works, the transformation resulted in a migration of several dozens of different platforms to one, in just 24 hours. In the summer of 2021, Veon  Georgia signed an agreement with the world's leading corporation Nokia,  to upgrade the core mobile network, ensuring data and voice transmission using cutting-edge technology and readiness for 5G services.

In 2015, Irakli was appointed Head of the Legal Department at Veon Georgia. He is responsible for legal and regulatory matters as well as relations with government bodies. Obtaining the first ever 4G license in Georgia and implementing Customer Data Protection according to the international standards within the company, are credits of Irakli and his team. For several years, Irakli chaired the Sanctions and Export Control Committee of the then Veon Group at the international level.

Lela has held the position of CPAO  at Veon Georgia since 2007. Lela's human capital management experience spans many years and several industries. Before joining Veon Georgia Lela served as a Chief HR Managing Officer at the biggest Georgian pharmaceutical company PSP Group, and prior to that as Head of the HR Management Department at UGT, a leading company in the IT and communications field. Lela also had experience in the banking sector, specifically at Bank Republic (Societe Generale Group).

 

Lela is one of the founders of the development of human resources management as a profession in Georgia and she spends a lot of time teaching the new generation in this field. During Lela’s and her team's tenure at Veon  Georgia, modern digital recruiting solutions were successfully implemented and Veon  Georgia was one of the first companies in Georgia to use Facebook Workplace for internal communication. Under Lela's leadership, the company has implemented a value system that the company is based on to this day.

 

Lela lectures at several of Georgia's leading higher education institutions and is a member of the Senate of the HR Professionals Association.

Sopo has managed Public Relations at Veon Georgia since 2018. Prior to joining Veon Georgia, Sopo worked as Director of Public Relations, Internal Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at JSC Bank of Georgia, a leading bank in Georgia. Sopho joined Veon Georgia at a particularly dynamic time, when the company was embarking on an important technological upgrade, innovating digitally and transforming itself into a digital operator. From the banking sphere, Sopo soon adapted to a new field – technology and became a full member of the team. Her team and she have implemented Beeline image campaigns and introduced new communication channels and the company has become one of the shapers of the economic news agenda in the country.

Ethics and Compliance Manager

 

Ia has worked as an Ethics and Compliance Manager at Veon Georgia since 2017. Prior to that, she was a Compliance Officer at the same company. Ia’s and her team’s work at Veon Georgia is related to the implementation and development of compliance - a new field for the Georgian market. Ia not only was able to successfully develop the necessary ethics and compliance mechanisms, policies and procedures at the company, but she did this adhering to the highest international standards. At the time, Veon  Georgia was one of the first companies of the then Veon Group to implement the multipoint plan necessary to fulfill the requirements of the U.S. Department of Justice. Today, Ia continues to successfully manage the Ethics and Compliance, which she has already made an integral part of the company.

 

Ia holds an International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance from the International Compliance Association.

Marika Chabukiani

Marika Chabukiani was appointed a Customer Experience  Manager at Veon Georgia in 2018. Prior to that, Marika was the lead of the telephone customer service team at the same company. Marika's career with Veon Georgia began in 2007. Her in-depth knowledge of the company and the industry helped Marika to establish the Customer Experience direction, which was new not only for the company but also in the Georgian market. In addition to Marika’s great story of being promoted from an opening to a management position within the company, she is associated with the introduction of a world-renowned customer experience platform Medallia. Veon Georgia was the first company in Georgia to adopt Medallia which is now used by the leading companies on the market. Marika is responsible for a customer’s entire “journey” with Beeline - from becoming a subscriber to further development. Marika is actively involved in the introduction of all new products and she is the first to try them out, before delivery to customers in their completed form. Marika is a certified service trainer and conducts training for Veon Georgia customer service staff.
